My name is Amanda Geiger, I am attending the School Counseling Credential and Master's Program at the University of San Francisco. In 2019 I am expected to graduate and also receive credits towards becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I am from Monterey, California and later attended the University of California, Davis for my Bachelor of Art's Degree in Psychology.  I currently reside in San Jose, California where I intern at Clyde L. Fischer Middle School.  

 

The youth I serve are incredibly resilient and powerful individuals who teach me more about myself than I could ever teach them.  They have incredible stories to tell and I want to provide an empathic ear to listen and validate their experiences. I hope to use my privilege to bring more awareness to the oppression of communities of color within the education system and change the narrative surrounding marginalized youth.
